The Riviera Poker Room, after their short existence in a temporary location, has moved to an area near the Splash theater. There is a "rope" separating the poker area from the slot machines in the vicinity. The tournaments offered at the Riviera Poker Room boast the best value in town for the price range. Games: $2-$4, $3-$6, $4-$8 Texas Holdem, No Limit with $1-$2 blinds and $40/$200 min/max buy-in, 7 card stud or any other game if enough interest
Tournaments: Yes at 10 AM daily, and 1 PM & 8 PM Sun - Fri. All tourneys are a $44 + $3 buy-in, and are limited to 50 players max. Registration begins 1 hour before. The Riviera poker tournaments offer great value since $40 of the $47 spent goes back into the prize pool for a return on investment of 85.1%, one of the best deals in town for a low bu-in event. Go across the street to Circus Circus, and although you'll see good value there for their single table events, their Mon-Sat. 11:30 AM tournaments, at a price of $43, return only $30 of that to the prize fund, a stingy 69.8%, one of the worst deals in town.
