MGM Grand starting tournament action soon, masseuse for hire in poker room

A busy new poker room on the Las Vegas Strip is about to become busier as of Fri., May 13, 2005. 2 tournaments a day at the MGM Grand was the rumor about 3 weeks ago, we'll see what develops and keep you posted. Also, a massage company has opened for business where they send a masseuse to MGM Grand and offer a massage for $2.00/minute to the poker players, with a 5 minute minimum. Business has been good according to Laurie, the masseuse we interviewed. During the interview, a great big tall guy came up to her wanting a massage, so they went to an empty table and she did her business, but usually she can be found during live action rubbing the neck and shoulders of the poker players. Later at night, we saw 2 others from the company come in offering their services. They plan to branch out to other casinos soon.

Bally's now has tournaments, introduces new "crazy" schedule

The Bally's Poker Room recently decided to cash in on the tournament craze, but with a twist. Their Thursday 11AM tournament is a normal no-limit tournament with a $77.00 buy-in, but their Tuesday and Wednesday tourneys are Pineapple and Crazy Pineapple respectively. Those $50.00 buy-in events are played just like regular no-limit tournaments, but instead of 2 hole cards, each player is given 3 and then discards one of them. In Pineapple, the 3rd card is discarded immediately and in Crazy Pineapple, the discard comes after the flop. Previously, Bally's offered no tournaments.
