This is the 7th and final article about how you can make it into the 2006 World Series of Poker main event for little or no investment.
You have reached the bankroll requirements of $500 and should now concentrate 100% on winning your seat at the WSOP main event. Should your bankroll drop to below $125 before you get your seat, immediately stop the satellites, go back to some of the bankroll building previous steps and replenish your funds before playing in any more satellites.
Poker Stars
Re-distrubute your remaining funds so that 1/2 lies in Poker Stars, the most highly reputable site of them all, and also one of the largest. 2 out of the last 3 World Series of Poker Main Event champions won their seats at a Poker Stars satellite and the 3rd guy plays there too. Who knows, maybe you're next. Last year, PokerStars sent 1,116 players to the main event. The following in red letters was added later, on 7/10/06, 18 days from Day One of the main event of the WSOP. Satellites start at $3 (with rebuys and add-on). These $3 tourneys feed you into the main satellite where 150 seats to the big dance are guaranteed. This main qualifying tournament is held Sundays at 4:30 PM ET. Play in as many of these $3.00 events as possible but don't get caught up in the rebuy frenzy. Chances are, you'll bust out before the rebuy period is over, but instead of being a rebuyer yourself, just play in the next $3 satellite, they start every 2 hours or so, depending on time of day. The idea you should follow is that you're better off starting fresh in a new tourney where the $3 you spend gives you maximum chip value for the money. Early in the tourney play tight, but watch for chances to double, triple, or quadruple up at the expense of the rebuy fanatics who are going all in with any 2 cards, expecting to lose but hoping to get lucky. Unfortunately, one of them will get you in most tourneys, but when it's your turn to be lucky, you will go far and you'll make it to the Sunday final with less invested than the rebuy fanatics, most of whom didn't make it anyway because of their limited skill level after the rebuy period ended and their luck ran out. If you find yourself running out of time, but not bankroll, step up to the higher buy-in satellites until you do make it to the Sunday final. Once you've downloaded the software, click on 'Events', then 'WSOP' to view the schedule of satellites available. You are sure to find some that fit with your bankroll.
Your other half of remaining funds should be distributed amongst your favorite bankroll building/WSOP satellite sites mentioned so far. The ones I recommend the most besides Poker Stars, are Absolute Poker, Paradise Poker, and UltimateBet.
Feel free to email me and tell me how it's going for you.
